오늘(2월 26일), 우크라이나 현지의 쥬이시 에이전시 파견단은 이스라엘로 이주해오는 첫 유대인 이민자 그룹이 폴란드로 넘어오는 것을 도왔습니다. 이들은 더 많은 유대인 이민자를 돕기 위해 즉각적인 준비에 착수하고 있습니다.

2022, 2월 26일, 예루살렘

이스라엘 쥬이시 에이전시는 오늘 폴란드, 몰도바, 루마니아, 헝가리의 4개 국과 우크라이나의 국경 건널목에 6개의 알리야 스테이션을 열 것이라고 발표했습니다. 이스라엘 외무부와 함께 운영되는 이 스테이션은 우크라이나 전쟁으로 인해 예상되는 대거 알리야 물결을 즉시 돕기 위해 세워졌습니다.

전쟁이 시작된 이래로, 쥬이시 에이전시는 리비우에 중앙 알리야 스테이션을 긴급하게 설치해 운영하고 있었습니다. 이곳은 오늘, 전쟁 이후 처음으로 알리야하는 유대인 이민자 그룹이 쥬이시 에이전시 파견단의 도움으로 폴란드로 건너간 출발 지점이었습니다.

이스라엘 외무부의 결정에 따라, 쥬이시 에이전시는 오늘 파견단을 우크라이나에서 폴란드 경계지역으로 옮겼습니다. 이곳에서 그들은 이스라엘로 이민을 원하는 우크라이나 유대인들을 계속 돕기 위해 이스라엘의 외교부와 함께 매일 국경을 넘어 우크라이나로 갈 것입니다.

우크라이나의 전쟁이 지속됨에 따라 알리야가 대거 일어날 것으로 예상되는 가운데, 쥬이시 에이전시는 유대인 이민자들이 이스라엘로 안전히 돌아갈 수 있을 때까지 이들을 돕기 위해 우크라이나 현지에 스텝들을 많이 파견하는 등 입지를 넓히고 있습니다.

다소 쉽지만은 않은 쥬이시 에이전시의 작전 중, 긴장감 속에서 진행된 16시간의 긴박한 과정 끝에 우크라이나에서 온 첫 번째 이민자 그룹이 2월 26일 오늘 폴란드로 건너갔습니다. 이민자들은 바르샤바 근처의 호텔에 일시적으로 머물고 있으며, 그곳에서 이스라엘로 곧 넘어가기까지 잠시 대기할 것입니다. 이스라엘에 도착하면 모든 이민자는 알리야 부처의 도움을 받아 임시 주택을 제공받게 될 것입니다.

<The Jewish Agency to Open Six Aliyah Processing Stations Along the Ukrainian Border in Poland, Moldova, Romania and Hungary>

Today, Jewish Agency emissaries assisted the first group of new Israeli immigrants to cross into Poland, with immediate preparations to assist many more

Jerusalem, February 26, 2022 – The Jewish Agency for Israel today announced that it will open six Aliyah (immigration to Israel) processing stations at Ukrainian border crossings with four countries: Poland, Moldova, Romania and Hungary. These stations, operated in conjunction with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are meant to immediately assist the expected waves of immigration due to the war in Ukraine. 

Since the start of the war, The Jewish Agency had been operating from a central Aliyah station in Lviv. This was the departure point of the first group of olim (immigrants) who crossed into Poland today with the help of Jewish Agency Israeli emissaries.

Following suit with the decision by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Jewish Agency today also moved its emissaries from Ukraine to the Polish side of the border. From there, they will cross the border into Ukraine every day, together with Israel’s diplomatic teams, in order to continue assisting Ukrainian Jews who want to immigrate to Israel.

Expecting a significant wave of immigration in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine, The Jewish Agency is immediately increasing its presence in the field to care for the Jewish immigrants until they are able to fly to Israel.  

In a complex Jewish Agency operation, and after a nerve-wracking 16-hour process, the first group of olim from Ukraine crossed into Poland today, February 26. The immigrants are being temporarily housed in a hotel near Warsaw where they will remain until they are flown to Israel shortly. Upon arrival in Israel, the olim will receive temporary housing, with help from the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
